A remedy for constipation used since 4BC. Its laxative properties stimulates the colon, reducing liquid absorption by moving food more quickly through the intestines. Kills bacteria and is effective against herpes simplex viruses. Do not use with other diuretics. May affect the action of certain heart medications due to the deletion of potassium due to diuretics. Angelica Root
(Angelica archangelica) ^W

An herbal remedy for appetite loss, gas, indigestion used since the 17th century. It combats digestion disorders by stimulating the production of digestive juices and improving the flow of bile into the digestive tract while combating spasms. It is the fleshy root of the European wild celery plant and should not be confused with Dong Quai (Chinese Angelica). Minimize your exposure to the sun as it increases sensitivity to sunlight. Daily dosage is approximately 1 teaspoon which can be steeped for 10-20 minutes in a cup of water to make tea.¹
